CSA Newsletter Week 6

Not many of you can make it out to our member potluck party so far but we plan to have a delicious time, regardless! If you haven't yet, RSVP before the event on Wednesday, August 3rd.

Peppers!  We haven't had pepper in years due to the fact that they are difficult to grow well - they love heat and they tend to get eaten by bugs.  This year, the summer heat has been sufficient and the pest pressure hasn't overwhelmed the crop.

The garlic has been harvested and is now curing in the shed.  The garlic you have been receiving is fresh and will last a while on your counter and longer in the fridge or freezer.  The garlic you receive starting in two weeks will last in a cool dark place until next spring!

I can't express just how grateful I am to have such a wonderful crew this year! Thank you Stephanie, Julie-Anne, Mark, Sarah, Vanessa and Rebecca!
