CSA Newsletter Week 3

Happy Canada Day!

Here is what you can expect at your pickup next week (weekly and bi-weekly A members):

What a beautiful share for week 3!  The bounty is ripening early this year.  Kale is back on the list because we want you to try both kinds; the curly kale you received in week 1 & 2 and now Italian kale.  We added green onions to your share last week and they are back on the list this week.
Get ready for copious amounts of zucchini and cucumber over the next 2 months!  Feel free to trade any of these items for something in our trade box so that you don't feel overwhelmed or irritated by the sight of anything Luxy!.  I can easily eat zucchini at 2 out of 3 meals everyday but I realize not everyone loves them as much as I do.
In the event of too many garlic scapes, chop your scapes and freeze them, pickle them, steam and puree them then freeze in ice cube trays.  Finally, here is the recipe of the week:
(Use your green garlic and/or garlic scapes in place of cloves.)
Here's another one:
(Again substitute cloves for green garlic and scapes.)
Happy cooking and happy festivities!
