Well hello, 28 degrees!

It appears that spring has sprung early!  And it couldn't have come at a better time; we started seeding in the greenhouse yesterday with our new intern Joséphine!  She got a taste of what it will be like when the internship begins in May.  Together we seeded thousands of onions, leeks and shallots in just a few hours.

Jonny has been working hard getting the greenhouse ready, building planter boxes, organizing seed packages, and arranging for the furnace to be hooked up.  This is the first year we haven't had to fire up the furnace to keep our seedlings warm.  Strange but wonderful!  It's going to save us some money on oil, which is always a bonus.

We've decided to attend the Orléans Farmers' Market this year.  The season begins May 18th and runs until October 5th.  Come find Luxy seedlings and vegetables every Friday from 11am until 6pm at the Orléans Centrum plaza between 240 Centrum Blvd. and St. Joseph Blvd.

The Rockcliffe CSA Pickup will be in the parking lot between the library and police station on Springfield Road, just south of Buena Vista.  It is the same location as last year and we will be there on Wednesdays from 5-7pm once the CSA begins in late-June.  Last year we stayed until 8pm but found ourselves sitting in the dark for most of September and October, so we decided to shorten the pickup time.  Members, look for the red tent and don't forget to bring bags to collect your vegetables in.

The Embrun CSA Pickup will also be at the same location as last year - the arena parking lot on Blais Street between St. Jean Baptiste St. & Marcel St.  We will be under the red tent from 5-7pm.

If you haven't signed up and are interested in joining our CSA, there are still spots available but email us soon for an application as they are filling up quickly!

We would like to thank Gideon Näf for the awesome new logo!  For more of Gid's fantastic art, go to

And that's it for this week's update.  Stay tuned for more pictures and our progress as we head into the 2012 season!
